About Leo E. Osborne
Born in Marshfield, Massachusetts in 1947, the Chinese Year of The Golden Boar, Leo spent time in marshes and woodland glades before attended New England School of Art in Boston. He came out of there wanting to be a painter and spent years doing his art in Boston and Cape Cod before venturing off to Coastal Maine where he became a sign painter, which moved him into wood carving of signs and eventually becoming a master carver and in so doing, winning The Best In World status at The Ward Museum Bird Carving Competition. Now after 25 years on Guemes Island, Leo continues to carve, paint and write poetry, with his first written & illustrated book, THE CAT & THE CORACLE, to come out soon! Leo is a Fellow of The National Sculpture Society and a Master Signature Artist of The Society of Animal Artists.

In recesses of my fertile mind
I see a fair maiden with me entwined
On hollow reed or twig divine
I’ll sip the nectars of her vine
So tender, writhing being of delight
Together let’s hum in long spiral flight
From this circle of life
As we spin our own tales
Our journey together will end
But our souls reunite in this
Vortex of light
And on this circle I will see you again
